Since June 23, the Children of the Arts have had a new inhabitant, a Erard piano, known as the No. 2 parallel string model, dating 1893. Previously owned by a concert pianist, this beautiful instrument was used for many years in concert halls in Belgium and then in Paris. It renewed its mechanics in 2005.
Mélanie Rivoal, who maintains our pianos, took it over very recently. Like any Erard of that time, it was wiser, at first, to stabilize the agreement at 435 Hz, to consider, a little later, to raise it to 440 Hz. The sound quality of this instrument is no less remarkable and should delight our pianists, and music lovers.
